Objective: Data-intensive discovery now becomes the fourth paradigm of sciences. Significant research efforts have been devoted into the field data-intensive computing, including computing system arcitectures, data organizations, and domain-specific methodolies for data processing. Earth sciences and geocomputing have exhibited special requirements on data-intensive computing dur to large amount data from the earth observation systems and complex mathematical models in the geocomputing. This session intends to serves a forum for researchers and engineers from earth science and geocomputing to present research achievements, identify open questions, discuss resarch methodologies, and propose future roadmap for data intensive computing.
Organization: This session will be a harf-day event, and 6 internationally-reconized researchers from diffent application domains will be invited give a talk in the session. Each talk will take 20 minitues followed by 10-minute question & answer part.
