How can we benefit from the data reuse--case study in China

Abstract:

In the lifelong journey, data tends to nourish and bother people from its original birth. Potential data value is attracting to data creators as well as other data users in the life cycle. While data is treasured as a new kind of asset for us all regardless of specific field. On the other hand, we all realize that there’re more than we can do from the original data and it is the sustainable data exploring that can support the survival of data curation.

When hunting for the data value, we see, the benefits we get from data reuse may be distinguished by social and economical ones. Here, judging from the institutional economics, the author wants to discuss the boundary of social benefits and economical profits and especially make case study of non-profit institution and commercial organizations to see the two ways of data reuse. Base on the comparison, the author summarized the profit model and according to the boundary, we tell them apart to make suggestion for the data value mining together with social benefits and economical profits exploration in the long life cycle of data. We hope the analysis and comparison of particular cases in China can cast light on the further data reuse in a way.
