National Materials Data Sharing Project in China

Abstract:

session title "Exchangeable materials data for use in industry, government and universities"

The national materials data sharing project, sponsored and funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, has been launched since 2009 to integrate the currently existing materials scientific data resources generated and accumulated in the past dozens of decades in China. Ten categories of materials, including the conventional irons and steels, and the advanced nano-materials, energy storage materials and so on, provides the services to the end users with the fundamental knowledge including phase diagrams, microstructures, element properties, etc., materials properties, processing, materials standard and the like. The strong search engine guarantees the accessibility and exchangeability of the data among the databases, and enables the material selection for the industrial engineers, the policy making for the governmental officials and the innovative activities on advanced materials for the researchers in university.
